Winter Tangerine Review is celebrating our two year anniversary, and we want you to join us! Come to our anniversary reading + fundraiser at the NYC Poets House (10 River Terrace, New York, NY), featuring writers Kesi Augustine, t'ai ford, Loisa Fenichell, Gabriella Gonzales, Darrel Holnes, Hanif Abdurraqib, Lucy Wainger, Cortney Charleston.
In the past two years, WTR has done a lot - we've published over 150 writers and artists in three volumes (with a fourth debuting very soon!), we've established our seasonal internship program, held three writing workshops (all free of charge!), and created the Spotlight Series (a quarterly feature on issues that matter - so far, we've worked on features that explore what it means to be black in America, the magic of drafting in poetry, the absurdity of celebrity culture, and the fragility and strength of home). We've published work we are proud of. We've created a magazine we are proud of. We've begun to create a real platform to amplify voices that deserve to be heard.
It's that time of the year though to ask for your support. We're fundraising once again so we can continue to keep WTR going for another year - we're so excited for the next year (chapbooks! contests! contributor payments!) and need help guaranteeing our financial stability. WTR is an independent publication run entirely on donations, Tip Jar submissions and volumes sales. By supporting WTR, you're supporting the voices of some of today's most innovative, daring, and talented artists.
All funds from the night go towards our publications, our contributors, our audience, (especially you). Come out for poetry and prose and pretty faces and big smiles. Help keep WTR going for another year!
$10 cover; we will be selling the last few print volumes of Volume One at the event for the (fairly expensive but hey it's a fundraiser) price of $30.
